Free roam VR lets you physically walk and move around a real arena while wearing a wireless headset. No cords, no heavy backpacks, no walls jumping out of nowhere. Just open space, your group, and a whole world to explore together.
At Game OVR, free roam means your entire group shares the same physical arena. You can see each other, work together, and yes, accidentally walk into your friend because they are just as real as you are. We do not mix groups, so the only people in your arena are the ones you came with.
This is VR the way it’s meant to be played. Free, physical, and shared.
You can wear glasses in our free roam arenas, though we recommend contacts or going without if possible. Our newer headsets are getting sleeker and more advanced, which means the fit for glasses can be snug. Some frames work just fine, but for the most comfortable experience, contacts are the way to go.

Free roam VR is one of the best options for people who experience motion sickness.
In free roam, you are physically moving through the space, so your body and senses stay in sync.
VR motion sickness happens when your eyes see movement, but your body does not feel that same movement. This disconnect can leave some guests feeling dizzy, queasy, or uncomfortable.
Many guests who struggle with traditional VR find free roam significantly more comfortable.

We never mix groups in our free roam arenas. The only people sharing your space are the ones you came with. Whether you are booking for two or for twelve, your arena is yours for the whole session.
We can host up to 16 players across our two free roam arenas.
HeroZone fits up to 8 players per arena and VR adVentuRes and XtReme Free Roam fit up to 6 per arena.

HeroZone and VR adVentuRes Free roam experiences are recommended for ages 5 and up and are accessible for all ages and experience levels.
The XtReme Free Roam is recommended for ages 8 and up due to the added weight of the haptic vest and content that is better suited for older players.
Our team does a custom tutorial with every group before you jump in to make sure everyone is comfortable with the gear and controls. Whether you are brand new to VR or a seasoned player, we are always on hand if you need anything during your session.
HeroZone is the perfect starting point. Fast paced, easy to pick up, and packed with variety. With 14+ mini games to choose from, you can battle zombies one round and flip burgers in a cooking game for the next. It’s the most social and accessible option for groups who want to jump in and play together right away.
VR adVentuRes are for groups who love puzzles but want more action than a traditional escape room. Battle a fire breathing dragon, fend off hungry sharks, or fight back an alien invasion all while working together in the same physical space. Playing side by side makes the entire experience feel even more immersive.
XtReme Free Roam is where things get serious. Strap into a haptic vest and take on titles you can only experience at Game OVR, including Arizona Sunshine Free Roam and After the Fall Free Roam. Fast paced, physical, and unlike anything else in Edmonton.
Some HeroZone titles can also be played here for an added layer of intensity.
