COVID-19 Safety measures
At Game OVR we have always taken the cleanliness and safety of our customers and staff very seriously. We have gone well above and beyond the province's recommendations so you can feel comfortable knowing that you can bring your family to Game OVR safely. We expect all customers to follow and respect our rules for the safety and enjoyment of everyone in our facility.
We have done our best to create a complete and comprehensive guide to all our safety policies and procedures in relation to COVID-19. If you do have any additional questions we welcome you to call or email us and we will do our absolute best to put your mind at ease.
Is VR a safe activity during a pandemic?
The great thing about VR is the activity has social distancing built right into it! Each player gets their own station with well over 6' in every direction clear, and a physical barrier between each player. The great thing about VR is you can be standing right beside someone virtually while on the other side of the room (or the other side of the world!) We even have a private deluxe room and private party rooms where you can be together without risk.
What makes Game OVR different?
We have redesigned and rebuilt our entire arcade from the ground up during the shutdown with health and safety in mind:
>We have a massive open lobby that allows groups to come and go with maximum social distancing.
>We have widened our hallways to give people more space to walk.
>We have spaced out our bookings to allow groups to come and go at different times to reduce congestion.
>Private deluxe room and party rooms away from the public so you can relax without masks, and without worries.
>We will be conducting temperature checks at the door, and will not be admitting anyone with visible symptoms into the building.
>We have modified our booking policies to allow customers to rebook within as little as 3 hours of their scheduled booking should they test positive or come down with symptoms.
New Cancellation policy:
For regular bookings:
-24 hours to cancel and receive a refund.
-3 hours to reschedule your booking to a later time or receive store credit.
-3 hours to reduce the number of guests
For Party bookings:
-7 days to cancel the entire party and receive a refund.
-3 days to reschedule the entire party to another date
-3 hours to reduce the number of guests and receive a refund or store credit.
What kind of cleaner do you use?
All VR equipment is fully sanitized between customers with the same product we have used since day 1: Benefect. Benefect is a truly amazing product that is not only on the EPA's N list of approved disinfectants for use against all pandemic influenza strains (A,B,&C incl, H1N1, H5N1, and H5N8) as well as human coronavirus, but is so mild on the skin it is used in neonatal wards on newborn babies. All surfaces in the party room and deluxe room will be disinfected between customers, and common touch areas such as bathrooms will be disinfected every 2 hours.
What about masks?
Masks will be mandatory in all common areas in our facility. This means anyone in our lobby or hallways will be required to be wearing a mask at all times. You are free to remove your mask in any private areas such as your VR station, party room, deluxe room, and washroom. Our VR stations are far enough apart to ensure social distancing and have physical barriers that prevent the spread of the virus. We will have masks available for $1 each for anyone who does not have one.
How are we keeping you safe?
>We will be enforcing mandatory masks for everyone. For the safety and peace of mind of our staff and customers, nobody will not be permitted in the building without one.
>We are encouraging all customers to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start time. This will give us time to perform temperature checks, verify waivers, and get everyone set up in their stations. In order to keep a safe flow of customers, we will not be able to extend your booking if you arrive late.
>We are relaxing our policy on rescheduling bookings. If you are feeling ill or displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 we ask that you contact us to rebook. Our staff will be performing temperature checks at the door and If you arrive showing visible symptoms or have a high temperature you will not be permitted in the building.
>Cleaning checklists. We will be tracking and recording the cleaning of the headsets and facility to ensure our standards are maintained at all times.
