There are many reasons why we chose to use the HTC Vive over the Oculus Rift, but that is not to say the Oculus doesn't have its advantages. The Oculus has the same resolution and refresh rate as the Vive, and is still capable of room scale tracking.
Touch ControllersThe Touch controllers are widely regarded as the most immersive controller for virtual reality currently available (until Valve releases its new knuckles controllers). They are lighter than the Vive wands and track individual finger movements more accurately.
Oculus has the advantage of Facebook's deep pockets to help fund AAA content optimised for the Oculus. Without this funding, many large studios wouldn't be able to justify the leap into virtual reality.
The main reason we chose to include the Oculus Rift is to give people with reduced mobility a better VR experience. Since the Oculus was originally released as a seated forward facing setup, their games are designed to include controls for turning. This means a person with reduced mobility could press a button to "turn" their point of view without having to physically turn their body. We are passionate about VR, and we want everyone to have a chance to enjoy it as much as we do.
